THE FINAL CAKE!!!!

I just finished my final cake for my cake decorating class! I am so excited to have it done. I feel very proud of myself as I look through the pictures of all the cakes I've done so far. I have improved so much from the beginning of the semester. So I guess I will do a little less talking and and more showing. So enjoy!

Well you guessed it, I have been doing more cakes and baking. Pretty much that is my life right now with all my other school work. Here is my latest cake. We had to do a basket weave on the sides of the cake with some flowers made out of royal icing and butterflies made out of colorflow icing. It was a lot of fun to do.

So I just finished my first fondant cake! It was quite the challenge, but I think it turned out well. Enjoy!

First Wedding Cake

So this past weekend I had the opportunity to make and deliver my very first wedding cake. It was an awesome experience. I definitely learned some things that I will be doing differently, but overall I am very grateful for this wonderful experience. My sister Heidi has been begging me for pictures, so here you are:

So tonight I was a little depressed. I have been discovering more and more engagements and more babies on the way. All my friends are moving on. I couldn't be more happy for them, but it does get a little discouraging when I get asked why I'm not dating, or why I'm not married yet, or are you going to go on a mission? Well tonight I was having a really tough time. I called my mom and she always seems to do wonders at cheering me up. She reminded me of the quote by Sister Hinckley that she got on a plaque shortly after starting school. I really liked it and decided to look up more quotes by her. Let me just tell you, if you ever feel down, just look up quotes by Sister Hinckley and that frown will soon be turned upside down! I just want to share some of them with you:

These are just a few of my favorites. They put a smile on my face and helped me to cheer up a little bit. 

Cakes, Pastries, Law, and More Cakes........

So this semester has been awesome, but quite the work load. My teachers are all great and pretty easy to understand. The only problem with that is all the homework that comes with it. I think the class I have had the most work to do is my Media Law and Ethics class. Just the name itself makes you want to give up and run away now..... Well I haven't given up yet. It is so difficult to understand though. All this law language and everything makes my head feel like it's about to explode sometimes. There are so many process that journalists have to go through and the government. It's definitely I am not going into journalism...

My favorite class would definitely have to be my cake decorating class. I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I have learned so much and it just make me want more than ever to one day start up my own cake decorating business. I think it would be so much fun and I'm actually pretty good at it.

Well this has pretty much been my life lately. I'm still keeping up the swing dancing and all that. I have needed that break more than ever this semester. It helps me to relieve stress. Well that's all for today! 

First Day of School!!!!.... I mean... mmhhmmm.....

So today was the first day of the winter semester here at BYU-I. I have gotten somewhat aquainted with my new roommates. They are all awesome! The exciting part about it all is that I'm not one of the oldest. I'm not saying that having a bunch of younger girls as roommates is a bad thing, but it's nice to have older roommates.
I love my new apartment! It is nice having an upstairs. I makes it easier to get away from people. I really think it will be a good place to live with many kind-hearted girls.
This semester I have some mixed feelings about everything. I'm really excited about the classes I'm signed up for, but I'm also really nervous about it. I am taking 7 classes with a total of 16 credits, 5 of which are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It will definitely be a full load, but worth it. My only worry is keeping up with everything, without going insane. The not going insane part will be the hardest part. PRAY FOR ME!!!!
